OMAHA — A Nebraska judge has given two Omaha men long prison sentences for their roles in the 2007 torture and murder of another man.
Both 27-year-old Joseph Tamayo and 40-year-old Brian Daigger were sentenced Wednesday. They were two of the four people charged in the death of 33-year-old Colby Dandrow.
Police say Dandrow had been tortured, burned and stabbed more than 100 times after he didn’t pay a prostitute $15 for sex.
Tamayo was sentenced to life in prison for the murder and 15 to 20 years on a weapons charge.
Daigger, who testified against the others involved, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He had pleaded guilty to attempted robbery as part of a deal with prosecutors.

The analysis of cases in the Milwaukee District Attorney’s Office showed that more black women were being arrested for prostitution than white women. The resulting solution was to divert all prostitution cases to treatment programs, Tymas said.

Four Charged in Spa Prostitution Case Appear in Federal Court
Four people charged in the spa prostitution case were in Federal Court in Omaha Wednesday afternoon. They appeared before Judge Thomas Thalken for their arraignment.
Channel Six News Fact Finders first uncovered the FBI investigation into the Omaha spa. Raids at 93rd and Maple and two others last fall led to the indictments. Sources say the FBI seized thousands of pages of records from these spas and those include client lists. A former employee says the customers included prominent individuals.
Sixty-three-year-old William “Randy” Knox of Omaha allegedly operated and sublet the spa at 93rd and Maple. He is charged with eight counts, including money laundering, and promoting prostitution across state lines. Wednesday, along side his attorney, Stu Dornan, Knox pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Knox, who was busted 16 years ago for promoting prostitution, allegedly leased the spa to 41-year-old Tammy Schuck, who moved out and opened two other spas, also allegedly fronts for prostitution. Schuck and her 22-year-old daughter Tabatha Ashburn, also face eight charges for managing the spas.
