OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A Grand Island woman and the security company she once worked for have reached a settlement over her harassment claims.
Evelyn Humburg sued Lincoln-based Silverhawk Security in 2008, saying she was subjected to sexual and racial harassment by supervisors and co-workers, including being called a prostitute. She worked for Silverhawk from December 2005 to May 2006 at the JBS Swift meatpacking plant in Grand Island.
A filing entered Tuesday in U.S. District Court says a settlement was reached. Details were not disclosed.
Humburg’s attorney was not available Tuesday at his office. A Silverhawk attorney declined to comment.
In court documents, Silverhawk denied Humburg’s allegations and said she voluntarily resigned to take a better-paying job.
