Omaha Adult Entertainment: Hasta La Vista! not your average comedy
Okay, so a blind guy, a guy in a wheelchair and a paraplegic walk/roll into a brothel .
It doesn’t take much to realize that Hasta la Vista!, Geoffrey Enthoven’s fifth feature, is not your average coming-of-age comedy. The Belgian film – translated as Come as You Are for English audiences – will premiere as part of the Montreal World Film Festival’s Official Competition.
The director’s third feature to be shown at the fest (after 2006’s The Only One and 2009’s The Over the Hill Band) tells the story of three disabled young men who live with their parents and dream of taking a road trip down Spain’s wine route to visit a bordello that caters to people in their situation. Then they actually do it.

While it’s tough to imagine a film like Hasta la Vista! being made in North America, Enthoven had one less mental barrier to cross given that prostitution is legal in Belgium. That was but a footnote, however, compared to the film’s central taboo of three physically challenged protagonists talking freely about – and ultimately engaging in – sex.
