Omaha Escorts: Burnham honored for OPD work
Family members in York report that events leading to Burnham’s eventual recognition began in 2009 when an Omaha mother filed a complaint that her daughter, 19, had become involved in a prostitution ring. In January 2010 an arrest was made and a federal search warrant issued for the residence involved in the case.
During execution of the warrant, Officer Sean Fontana was involved and also briefed on the suspects, who he observed driving by the house. When relieved by Burnham, Fontana thoroughly briefed him about suspects and facts surrounding the case.
Burnham recognized similarities in subject descriptions and other information from a report he had taken himself a month earlier. In that complaint a juvenile was being used for prostitution. That resulted in a sexual assault report Burnham compiled at a Council Bluffs hospital.

Because of the chain of information sharing the investigation ultimately exploded into a highly publicized, major federal case of human trafficking, juvenile prostitution and sexual assault.
