Man in Iowa-Nebraska Sex Ring gets 11 years

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) – The last of four people convicted in a sex-trafficking conspiracy in Iowa and Nebraska has been sentenced to prison.
A news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa says 21-year-old Ramon Heredia has been given 11 years in prison.
Heredia had pleaded guilty last October to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
His wife, Katherine Heredia, was given a three-year term. They lived in Omaha, Neb.
Their accomplice Merrideth Crane-Horton, of Omaha, was given 17 1/2 years. Her husband, 35-year-old Edwin “Nate” Horton, was given more than 14 1/2 years.
Investigators say the four ran the sex ring from August 2007 to June 2010 in Council Bluffs and across the Missouri River in Omaha. Prostitutes included a teenage girl.
