Mills to face sexual assault charges in attacks

A Shelby man convicted of two brutal sexual assaults in Omaha – and facing 110 years in a Nebraska prison – will face additional charges in Pottawattamie County.
Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber said the trial information against Todd A. Mills was filed Monday, charging Mills with four counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of second-degree sexual abuse.
Mills, 46, was arrested in Omaha in August 2010 after raping two prostitutes at gunpoint. In September, Douglas County District Judge Thomas Otepka sentenced Mills to 110 to 140 years in prison. The sentence means Mills wouldn’t be eligible for parole until he turns 100.
However, investigators believe Mills is tied to a string of sexual assaults that occurred in Council Bluffs between 2008 and 2010.
