Omaha woman imprisoned for role in torture-slaying

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A 28-year-old former prostitute has been given five years in prison for luring an Omaha man to her apartment, where he was burned and stabbed to death.
Alissa Parks was sentenced Wednesday for false imprisonment. A judge had thrown out a murder charge against her.
In November 2007, police found the bound and gagged body of Colby Dandrow in Parks’ bathtub. He had been stabbed more than 100 times.
Investigators say the 32-year-old Dandrow owed Parks for a sex act but hadn’t paid. She asked for help from some friends, who attacked Dandrow when he got to her apartment.
Last February, 1 of the assailants, Joshua Minshall, was given life in prison. Trials are pending for two others.
