Omaha Escorts: Prostitute gets prison in slaying
A prostitute was sentenced this morning to five years in prison for her role in the kidnapping that ended in the brutal death of an Omaha man.
Douglas County District Judge Patrick Mullen sentenced Alissa Parks for false imprisonment in connection with the savage killing of Colby Dandrow, 33, in November 2007.
Dandrow had hired Parks for sex. When he couldn’t perform, Parks demanded $15 – and called her friends Joseph Tamayo, Brian Daigger, Joshua Minshall and another man to the apartment to help collect.Authorities say that Dandrow was tied up, beaten, stabbed, burned and tortured in Parks’ apartment.
Minshall has been sentenced to life in prison for murder. Tamayo and Daigger await trial.Dandrow’s mother, Patti Fay, and stepfather Bill Fay, told the judge that Parks should have faced more serious charges.Mullen threw out first-degree murder charges against Parks – saying there wasn’t enough evidence that she participated in the planning and killing of Dandrow.In turn, prosecutors charged her with false imprisonment – a felony punishable by up to five years. She has agreed to testify against the others in this case.
