Sting nets 2 Tremonton-area women for prostitution

Tremonton police, aided by an undercover Layton officer, say they have cracked a local, two-woman prostitution ring.
Police Chief Dave Nance said the women advertised online as providing massages, but were doing much more.
“We started getting information on them about two or three months ago, but indications are they have been at it for quite some time,” Nance said.
The Layton police officer set up an appointment to meet the women on the morning of March 25. When the women began negotiating a price for sexual services, officers arrested them.
Arrested were a 31-year-old woman from Tremonton, a northern Utah town of 5,600, and a 30-year-old woman from neighboring Garland. They were charged with several misdemeanor counts including prostitution, operating a sexually-oriented business without a license and possession of marijuana, Nance said.
