OMAHA, Neb. –
A judge Wednesday sentenced a former prostitute to five years in prison for her role in the torture-style death of a man.
With time already served, Alissa Parks will be free in two and a half years.
The parents of the victim, Colby Dandrow, asked the judge for the harshest possible sentence. The judge noted that Parks had cooperated with the state in numerous aspects of the case.
The judge, however, said “no one deserves to die this way.” He said Parks was the last person able to save Dandrow.
Investigational said Dandrow hired Parks as a prostitute in 2007 but did not pay her. Parks then went to several other men to help her collect the debt.
